mom's famous heart-warming chili

My mom's chili was EASILY one the my favorite meals growing up.
i have no idea where she got the recipe, in honesty i think she made it up in her genius mind of hers.
but it is delicious.
it was always the perfect thing to have on a cold night.
and it's easy too!
there is maybe 25-half hour of prep time (if that),
and then you leave it in the crockpot all day until it's time to eat.
it's one of christian's favorite meals and it goes perfectly with
the sweet corn bread recipe i shared with you last fall.
i half the recipe for chin and me and it is perfect (with a little leftovers)!

Mom's Famous Slow-Cooked Chili
1 1/2-2 lb ground beef
2 cans (16oz each) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
2 medium onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp chili powder
2 tsp salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Brown ground beef and drain. Put all in a slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4 hours. Top with sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips (or whatever you like! i think some chives would be yummy). Makes 10 servings.

enjoy :)
